Hi there I'm Tanya

Originally from the North, I now live in the South East of England with my husband down by the coast. My passion for therapy actually started back when I stumbled across one of the very first episodes of Big Brother in 2000 (yes, really!). I was so intrigued by the idea of understanding other people and behaviour.

This interest slowly grew into studying Psychology at both undergrad and postgrad level, alongside working with people directly in the NHS.
I feel honoured to be able to help people understand why they feel the way they do and importantly find a new way forward together.

"Therapy is truly a partnership and getting side by side working together is such a privilege."

My Experience

For over 10 years, I’ve worked in a range of mental health therapy services in the NHS and have seen first-hand how life-changing therapy can be.
My first job role was working with dementia and sparked the passion to help others within NHS.
I knew early on that I wanted to work with people and help them to make long-lasting change.

My qualifications

  • BSc Psychology (Hons) – University of Leeds
  • Post Grad Certificate in Mental Health- University of Southampton
  •  Post Grad Diploma in Anxiety and Depression (IAPT)- University of Southampton
  • I am a fully accredited member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
  • Alongside CBT, I am also trained in ‘third-wave’ approaches such as Compassion Focussed Therapy, Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy–informed work.

My Specialism

I work with a range of common mental health problems however I particularly specialise in working with worry.
We all worry, in fact as humans we are hard-wired to do so.
For some of us, we may find this worry starts to take over and stops us being able to do the things we used to do.

This can really impact on how we feel about ourselves, our relationships, even how we sleep at night.
Modern life can be tough, and I know how hard it can be trying keep all those plates spinning.
When we are able to manage our worries, it can help us feel more resilient, and able to cope.
If this sounds like something you would like to achieve, I would love to hear from you.
